Geocaching with your dog - taking the time not first to find!
You don't have to be a geocacher to hang with us dogs you just have to love spending time with your four footed friends.
We all want to take our dogs with us wherever we go if we can and by sharing your experiences you can make a memorable doggie adventure for someone else.
We encourage all our members to share their favorite caches, parks, businesses, restaurants, places to stay and other dog friendly places they discover.
More and more businesses are realizing that our dogs are our constant companions and we want them to be as welcome as we or our children are but the dilemma is how do you find these places. Most don't put a sign outside saying "hey bring your dog here" although some do. When businesses have positive interactions with responsible dog owners they are more likely to welcome them with open arms and in some cases find ways to cater to their canine patrons.
Quite often when we are out geocaching with our dogs we stumble upon some awesome places and we are sure you do too.
That is what this website is about!!!
If you have discovered a great dog friendly cache then please share.
If you visit one of the caches and find or know of a great dog friendly business nearby add it to the comment or review section.
If you have a great idea and don't know where to put it just email it to us and we will find a place for it or create one for it.
Cache of The Week: Andres Institute of Art
In 1996, engineer and innovator Paul Andres purchased Big Bear Mountain in Brookline, NH and moved into the house near the top of the mountain. Based on his lifelong love of nature and passion for art, Paul decided to purchase sculptures to place in the natural setting surrounding his new home.
Coincidentally, master sculptor John M. Weidman had been living in Brookline for many years. Not surprisingly, John's skill as a sculptor became known to Paul and they began to work together to make plans for adding sculptures to the mountain. In 1998, they co-founded the Andres Institute of Art as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization.
Not only is this a unique sculpture park that is dog friendly it hosts several geocaches in varying degrees of difficulty. Plan on spending the day exploring and enjoying this unique area.
Check out the caches of the week by going to The Caches Tab and Find A Cache.
